A total of 1,800 sqm of old roofs were renovated to improve the building envelope’s thermal efficiency through the addition of PIR insulation. Additionally, a cool roof waterproofing system, namely a FLAGON EP/PR 15/10, was installed to permanently reduce the building’s internal temperature while helping to combat urban heat islands.

Part of the roof was dedicated to hosting photovoltaic panels, with a total capacity of 22.5 kWp. Thanks to the retrofit, the building owner now enjoys a single, unified warranty covering both the roof assembly and Soprasolar’s mounting system – and benefits from reduced delivered energy and primary energy consumption.

When self-supplied, the electricity produced locally is used directly, avoiding conversion losses linked to long-distance transmission. It’s worth remembering that a solar powerhouse has the best energy conversion efficiency over full life cycle.
